DPS-MIS boys bag national schools debate title
DPS-MODERN Indian School (DPS-MIS) has bagged most of the major awards at the Qatar Schools Debating National Championship.
The team comprising Farhan Sakkir (XII-D), Fahad Ahmad Khan (XI-B) and Pradipta Paul (XII-G) took on DeBakey High School and won the championship.
They debated on the motion “this house would only imprison individuals who are a direct and continuous threat to Society”. The final was held at the College of Islamic Studies in Hamad Bin Khalifa University on April24.
Farhan also emerged as the best speaker in the final as well as the league. Fahad was declared the second-best speaker. Another DPS-MIS student, Shivom Dhamija, came 10th in the best speakers’ list.
The school also won the League Championship and the prestigious, Running Trophy. Principal Asna Nafees congratulated the boys for their performance.
