Firmino returns to Liverpool training

-

MARBELLA: Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino returned to full training on Tuesday as he stepped up his recovery ahead of next week’s Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur. Firmino took part in Juergen Klopp’s first session of the squad’s Marbella training camp after missing three matches with a muscle strain.

The 27-year-old Brazil international’s last appearance for Liverpool was from the bench against Barcelona on May 1 when they lost 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. “Roberto Firmino today trained alongside his teammates following a muscle strain that ruled him out of liverpool’s last three matches,” a statement on liverpool’s website revealed.

“The Brazilian took part in the Reds’ first session of their Marbella training camp on Tuesday morning as he works his way back to full fitness. Firmino has been working with the club’s medical staff on his rehabilitation from the issue and his reintroduction into full team training will be carefully managed under their supervision, with specialised programmes planned over the coming days.”

Firmino has scored 16 goals in 47 appearances for Liverpool this season.
