DFC is set to host an array of activities for families
DOHA Festival City (DFC), Qatar’s unique, worldclass retail, entertainment and dining destination, continues with a diverse array of Ramadan activities, offering something for everyone, including storytelling, live cooking demonstrations and community led activities, in partnership with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS).
From May 25 to June 5, from 9 pm until 10 pm, children can enjoy Islamic storytelling at the Diamond node by L’ETO and Le Petit Train Blue restaurants, in addition to the regular storytelling tent which will function at Angry
Birds Atrium, Lower Ground level, on
May 23 and 24.
QRCS will be collecting new and used toys from May 22 to 25 to be donated to children in Qatar and abroad. This comes as part of a CSR initiative titled Box of Happiness, created by Alya Almaadhadi, and sponsored by QRCS. The event will take place at the Entertainment Node on the Ground Floor, by Toys ‘R’ Us, encouraging the public to join in this sharing act by donating and wrapping up the boxes.
Foodies and budding chefs can enjoy the Cooking Classes happening at the South Food Court, Ground Floor. On May 23, from 8pm to 10pm, Chef Emad of The Cooking Academy, will take the stage to show the audience how to cook some Italian favourites. Qatari Chef Aisha al Tamimi will wrap up the evening with Qatari traditional dishes. On May 24, Chef Tasneem Nasrallah will share with visitors the secrets to her delicious Kuwaiti Dish Mumawash Shrimp, followed by Chef Emad who will focus on Indian cuisine.
Robert Hall, general manager of DFC, said “As we enter the last two weeks of Ramadan, we endeavour to continue making the holy month memorable for everyone in Qatar. We are happy to see more people choosing Doha Festival City as their destination for the whole family, and we look forward to creating more memorable experiences for all.”
The events on offer include storytelling, live cooking demonstrations and community-led activities in partnership with QRCS.
