M Pallonji capped their calculated chase with a fine eightwicket victory over CCRC and won the Gulf Incon- Metabo Ramadan Cricket Tournament at the packed Old Ideal Indian School floodlit ground.

At the prize distribution ceremony, Sajjad Ahmed Khan, Senior Manager Sales and Marketing, Gulf Incon & Metabo, was present along with Rajkumar Selvarajan, Credit & Inventory Controller, Ramesh Natarajan, Deputy Accounts Manager, and Vincent Vimaldas, Product Manager, Tools & Equipment. Guests of Honour were Shahid Mehboob, QCA national team coach, Gul Khan Jadoun, QCA Head of Domestic Cricket, Tahir Mehmood, Mohammad Naseem, QCA official umpires, and Qatar Veterans Cricket officials were also present.

The organising committee extended special thanks to Adnan al Mannai, Managing Director, Gulf Incon, and Marcel Cenia, General Manager, Metabo Middle East, and Prateek Yadav, Business Development Manager, Metabo.

Batting first after the toss, CCRC put up a stiff 132 in 12 overs. Muzzamil struck a quick 19 with two sixes to give a good start of 35 for one in power play. They suffered two more setbacks in the fourth over, delivered by Sadiq.

But that did not dampen their spirit and Afzal stepped on the crease to thrill the crowd with his big hitting. He smashed half a dozen sixes and chipped in with 44. As a result of his fine knock, CCRC set up a demanding target. Sadiq and Alban shared four wickets, giving away 17 and 22 runs, respectively in their allotted two overs. Rauf and Sahil also ratted a wicket each.

M. Pallonji launched the pursuit a bit slow as opener Praveen was dismissed in the third over. Thereafter, they pressed the accelerator with other opener Sajeev smashing the ball all around the field. He faced just 11 balls and before he fired 32, which included four sixes and one boundary.

Sandesh and Rauf maintained the momentum, collecting 30 (12 balls) and 32 (10 balls). They also cracked eight sixes and a boundary between them, lifting M Pallonji to the victory in 11 overs. Mohsin, Nixon and Suraj grabbed a wicket each.

Rauf from M. Pallonji was also declared man of the finals. There was a raffle draw for fans as well.
