FAISAL produced a second back-toback man-of-the-match performance to fashion a 29-run victory for Galfar Al Misnad against Tusker Club in the Premier Division of the QCA Twenty20 Cricket Tournament.

At the West Bay Grounds, Faisam smashed three sixes and seven hits to the rope in his 24-ball 55, which lifted Galfar Al Misnad to a challenging 150 for seven. Mujeeb contributed 23 with two fours in his 20-ball knock. Prem (three for 21) and Niaz took five wickets between them.

Zainu hit a flurry of six sixes in his 48 but Nauman and Gayan cut short Tusker Club’s chase, shooting them out for 121 in 19.1 overs. Nauman bowled brilliantly and picked three for nine, while took two for 25. Faisal pulled off two catches as well.

In another Premier Division match, Asif steered Royal Stars to an exciting six-wicket triumph against Commercial Bank Qatar. Batting first, CBQ piled up 178 for three with Zaheer hammering 72, including a six and half a dozen fours.

Royal Stars came home with three balls to spare as Asif fired five sixes and two fours in his 26-ball 54. Besides his knock, Asif got a wicket to be aptly adjudged the man of the match.

Saleem missed out on a glorious triple-figure score but sparked Shah Eleven to a 30-run victory over Redco in an A Division match. His 98 off just 58 balls with five sixes and 11 boundaries provided the base for his team’s 170 for four.

Redco failed to lift the pace needed to beat the rivals and could reply with 141 for seven. Said Mohamed (three for 29) and Hamad (two for 15) restricted them with their fine bowling. Saleem was declared the man of the match.

Tony, with four sixes and seven fours in 64, set up a seven-wicket triumph for Qatar Super Kings against Gulf Colours Lagaan and Firox were steered to an exciting three-wicket win by Abrar (52 with a six and six fours) against Doha Falcons in other two Division A matches.
