Qatari businessmen urged to invest in The Gambia
QATAR and The Gambia enjoy a very strong bonding and Qatari investments are welcome in the country, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of The Gambia Dr Mamadou Tangar has said. The tourism in The Gambia was one of the most promising sectors, he said. This came during a meeting held at Qatar Chamber on Thursday in the presence of the Second Vice Chairman Rashid bin Hamad al Athba and Ambassador of the Republic
of The Gambia to Qatar HE Foday Malang. The minister called on Qatari businessmen and investors to visit The Gambia to identify investment opportunities available and tap into facilitations offered by the government for foreign investors.
The Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad Dr Mamadou Tangar met with Qatar Chamber (QC) Second Vice Chairman Rashid bin Hamad al Athba in Doha on Thursday. The meeting was also attended by The Gambian Ambassador to Qatar HE Foday Malang.
They discussed ways of enhancing trade and economic ties between the two countries and possible investment opportunities in The Gambia.
The Gambian minister said Qatari investments were “more than welcome”, especially in the tourism sector.
Dr Tangar called businessmen and investors in Qatar to visit The Gambia to identify investment opportunities and take advantage of the benefits extended by the government to foreign investors. Assuring Dr Tangar of Qatar Chamber’s support, Athba said Qatar’s economy was robust and attracts all foreign investments and companies.
