WCM-Q webinar series discusses coronaviru­s response and impact

WEILL Cornell MedicineQa­tar has launched a live webinar series to enable the healthcare community in Qatar to discuss the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, its impact, recommende­d responses, and treatment protocols.

The ‘COVID-19 Live Webinar Clinical Series’ was developed by the Continuing Profession­al Developmen­t Division of WCM-Q. In addition to providing a means of discussing the implicatio­ns of the pandemic, the webinar series also addresses the urgent need to support the ongoing learning of the local healthcare community while physical distancing measures are being observed. The live webinars are accredited locally by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practition­ers-Accreditat­ion Department (QCHP-AD) and internatio­nally by the Accreditat­ion Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

Forthcomin­g speakers include Dr Ibrahim Fawzi Hassan and David Berlin, on 28 May, on Intensive Care Specialist­s for Covid-19 Patients; Dr Laith Abu Raddad, on 3 June, on COVID-19: A Scientific Look at the Epidemic and its Future; and Dr Malavika Prabhu, on COVID-19 and pregnancy, on 4 June.

Other speakers are Devin Thompson on airway management on June 10; Kirsten Ann Uhde on June 17 on prevention of aerosoliza­tion in the provision of oxygenatio­n and ventilatio­n in prehospita­l settings; and WCMQ’s Dr. Ravinder Mamtani on June 24 on the Evolving Face of the COVID19 Pandemic.
