ATAR’S residents can return to enjoy distinct dining experiences at IDAM and Jiwan, two exceptional culinary destinations by celebrated chef Alain Ducasse.

atar Museums’ flagship restaurants, which reopened on Wednesday offering limited service with enhanced health and safety protocols.

IDAM restaurant at the Museum of Islamic Art will operate with a smaller, regulated capacity for dinner service from Sunday to Thursday, 6:30 9:30 pm. Jiwan at The National Museum of atar will be open from Saturday to Wednesday with limited capacity for lunch and afternoon tea from 12:00 5:00pm.

The reopening of these restaurants aligns with the second phase of resumption of public activity in atar as per the Ministry of Public Health’s (MoPH) decision amid COVID-19 pandemic. The restaurants will be following guidelines and recommendations to ensure a safe environment for all with the highest hygiene practices to protect public health.

Following MoPH guidelines, Jiwan and IDAM have reopened with limited capacity and adapted seating to ensure a gap of two metres between tables to create a safe and relaxed dining experience. The restaurants are utilising ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) to sanitise the kitchen, uniforms and napkins, and diners will be offered a single-use menu or an online menu which can be viewed using a R code. Ehteraz application status will also be checked on arrival at the restaurant or at the main museum entrance.

Executive Chef Damien Leroux said, “We are excited that our guests may once again enjoy the full culinary experience that both Jiwan and IDAM have to offer through rich local flavours and distinct service and ambiance. Throughout this crisis, our customers have been at the centre of our attention. Our team has been working tirelessly over the past few months to serve our customers in the safety of their homes. We are now eager to welcome them to the restaurants.”

Phil Lawrie, General Manager, IN- Enterprises, commented: “We look forward to welcoming guests back and returning to offering exceptional cultural dining experiences. Our staff and guests’ health and safety remain our priority, and we have stepped up to support the Ministry of Public Health’s latest guidance. Our approach is centred on limiting occupancy and ensuring diners have adequate space to socially distance, whilst offering a tailored service that limits the guest’s interaction with staff. As a business, we are very proud of the measures and directives that our country and Government have provided, which has enabled atar to limit the spread of COVID-19 and follow a phased reopening of public spaces, retail outlets and restaurants.”

Jiwan, the latest venture from celebrated chef Alain Ducasse, initially opened at the iconic National Museum of atar in December, 2019, to offer visitors a refined and reimagined taste of atar’s local ingredients and culinary heritage. The restaurant’s carefully curated menu and atar-inspired d cor immerse diners into a sensory experience that takes them on a delicious voyage from the desert to the sea. The outdoor terrace of Jiwan Restaurant offers impressive views of the Doha Bay. It also overlooks the desert-rose inspired architecture of Jean Nouvel and the newly restored Palace of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani.

IDAM is Alain Ducasse’s first restaurant in the Middle East, nestled on the 5th floor of the IM Pei-envisioned Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) and offers an innovative and flavoursome selection of contemporary French Mediterranean cuisine designed with an Arabic twist.

Jiwan and IDAM offer diners spectacular views of Doha and an elevated dining experience. Guests are required to make a reservation before visiting.
