Cabinet hails Shura election success
Cabinet congratulates elected members of Shura Council and wishes them success
THE Cabinet has hailed the success of the Shura Council elections, which was characterized by integrity, transparency and good organisation, and the high patriotic spirit that prevailed, reflecting the Qatari people’s awareness and understanding of their national responsibilities and duties.
The Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani on Wednesday, congratulated the elected members of the Shura Council and wished them success in performing their duties and responsibilities.
It also expressed aspiration for close, fruitful and constructive cooperation between the government and the Shura Council in everything that would serve the country and the citizen.
The Cabinet also reiterated Qatar’s solidarity with the Sultanate of Oman and declared support for meeting the challenges of Hurricane Shaheen, which hit some regions of the sultanate. The Cabinet further expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the government, the brotherly Omani people and the families of the victims of the hurricane, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured. Then, the Cabinet was briefed by HE Minister of Public Health on the latest developments and efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19. The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of work with the procedures and precautionary measures that have been taken in order to combat this pandemic.
The Cabinet then approved a draft decision of the Minister of Interior to amend some provisions of Resolution No 51 of 2016 on the formation of Migrant Workers Exit Permit Grievances Committee.
It also approved a draft decision of the Minister of Municipality and Environment amending some provisions of the executive regulations of Law No 30 of 2002 Promulgating the Law of the Environment Protection.
THE ambassador affirmed the solidarity and continued cooperation between the two countries, and the deep and distinguished relations between them, noting that the leadership and the people of Qatar stand by Algeria. He added that the relations of the two countries are strong and well-established, and there is ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two countries on common issues, and that the wise leaderships of the two brotherly countries have the will to develop the cooperation and solidarity in all circumstances.
Qatar had earlier sent, through QFFD, a shipment of medical assistance to Algeria contained 10 tons of aid. The State seeks through these efforts to extend a helping hand to brotherly and friendly countries and help them overcome the COVID-19 crisis that swept the world.
