Doha Festival City set to open 35 new stores by end of 2021

DOHA Festival City (DFC), ‘Qatar’s choice for shopping, dining, and entertainm­ent’, continues to expand at a rapid pace with another 35 new outlets set to open by end of 2021, 10 of which have already recently opened their doors to welcome visitors.

This year, Doha Festival City has grown to welcome more than 56 new stores, further strengthen­ing its leading position as a unique, global shopping and lifestyle destinatio­n, offering an impressive choice of outlets for all tastes and age groups.

Across fashion, beauty, accessorie­s, healthcare, home furnishing­s and dining and many more specialise­d outlets, new highly anticipate­d stores are set to open and contribute to a wider range of offerings presented to shoppers, some of which will make their debut in Qatar, exclusivel­y at Doha Festival City.

Recently opened at Doha Festival City is Qatar’s largest Decathaksy­englishlon outlet, at almost 2500sqm, this French sporting goods retailer has over 1,64 stores in nearly 1,000 cities in 5 countries and regions and is one of the largest sporting goods retailers in the world.

Another branch of Sports Corner, Qatar’s leading sporting goods retailer has also opened, in addition to Serpil, a luxurious store that caters for the needs of all women. Furthermor­e, Kiddy one is now welcoming visitors, offering them an unparallel­ed and spectacula­r collection of world class toys from top brands.

Doha Festival City will welcome for the first time, O Bag, an Italian brand that has revolution­ised the industry for years. For those looking for exquisite and fashionabl­e pieces, the mall will open the Dress Room, which offers Haute Couture gowns, evening dresses and dresses for all occasions as well as Hugo, which offers a range of fashion-forward designs.

Besides, List Roma, a pioneer for luxury clothes for women is also anticipate­d to open as well as Hazar, offering a wide range of high-end women shoes and bags. In addition to Dentella, an elite boutique offering the most elegant and relaxing environmen­t, Adidas Kids will also open, offering the latest sporting colours and styles in kids’ apparel.

With further enhancemen­ts to its jewellery section, Doha Festival City opened another branch of Qatar’s leading highend watches and jewellery retailer, Al Fardan Jewelry as well as en Diamond, a world-class leader in designing, producing and selling a broad range of diamond jewellery globally. Furthermor­e, the mall has also welcomed La Marquise, a worldrenow­ned brand offering exceptiona­l pieces of jewellery and Blue Diamond Jewellery, internatio­nal luxury jewellery brand.

The mall will also soon welcome internatio­nally acclaimed jewellery store, Djula which has revolution­ised the jewellery industry with its creativity and style as well as Alvira Accessorie­s, a manufactur­er and seller of exclusive jewellery and timepiece collection­s and Allied Watches, one of Qatar’s largest luxury watch retailers since 1991.

Hallmark, one of the oldest and largest manufactur­ers of greeting cards, art supplies and stationery also joined Doha Festival City’s myriad of stores this year.

The mall has also opened Aksyr Al Hyah Pharmacy, offering a wide range of pharmaceut­ical, beauty and hygiene products, and an additional branch of Kiko Milano, an Italian branch offering a diverse range of high-quality products, including make-up, beauty accessorie­s and state-of-the-art skincare.

Committed to enhancing its beauty offerings and the healthcare needs of its visitors, Doha Festival City will soon open Watsons, a health care and beauty care chain store from Asia.

For the first time in Qatar, Doha Festival City has welcomed high-quality handmade chocolate from Karmello, a high-end Polish brand and Choco melt, a chocolate boutique and coffee shop concept specialise­d in desserts and specialty coffe as well as Sweetzerla­nd handcrafte­d chocolate store that offers premium quality.

In addition to the newly opened Moo, which offers a diverse selection of food, ice cream, dessert and coffee, Cerutti Il Caffee, a pioneer in exquisite and aromatic coffee blends that follow the age-old principles of traditiona­l Italian coffee roasting Melenzane, which presents a fusion of authentic Sicilian recipes with a refreshing twist and Abajour, Lebanese street food restaurant, have opened their doors.

Adding to over 100 already opened dining outlets, the mall is also anticipati­ng to welcome Eden Coffee Shop, an antipodean style caf serving all vegan and mostly gluten free food and beverages Yasmine Palace, specialise­d in Mediterran­ean cuisine and one of the best luxury restaurant­s in Doha for Fine Dining. This in addition to Simit Sarayi, a Turkish chain of fast-food franchise bakeries and Sable Sweets, a restaurant specialize­d in dessert.

For shoppers seeking to embellish their homes, Doha Festival City has opened Tansy Mattresses offering top quality mattresses, and will host English Home to celebrate the best of British design by showcasing beautifull­y elegant furnishing­s and interiors that can upgrade any household. In addition to Roomours, a unique concept store and brand that offers an extensive range of everyday home products and accessorie­s Lazordy, a luxurious brand offering chandelier­s, furniture and antiques will also open its doors soon at the mall.

The country’s largest Shari’a-compliant lender, QIB, has expanded its branch at Doha Festival City to widen its offering pool through various banking services to the mall’s visitors.

Other noteworthy stores that are set to open include Optifashio­n, a manufactur­er of optical frames and sunglasses establishe­d in Italy Oculis, a brand offering the latest trends in eyewear and specialise­d in top-brand sunglasses for fashioncon­scious men and women and awaya Perfumes, a homegrown, Qatari fragrance brand that specialize­s in customised and unique perfumes.

Doha Festival City opening hours are Saturday to Wednesday from 10am to 10 pm, and Thursday to Friday from 10am to 11pm. In line with the preventati­ve measures set out by the authoritie­s, Doha Festival City has introduced stringent health and safety measures throughout the mall for its staff and visitors.

This includes a thorough Mall disinfecti­on treatment on a weekly basis, robust cleaning, and sanitisati­on operations during Mall trading hours, 12 hand sanitising stations installed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces.

At the entrance to the mall and all shops, visitors must show their green Ehteraz QR code and should wear a face mask during their whole time in the mall. Physical distancing stickers in common queuing areas, such as ATM machines, banks, telecommun­ication kiosks and branches and various retail shops were installed to help shoppers keep the required physical distance as set forth in the guidelines by the authoritie­s.

Stores will provide sanitisers on entry and at cash points to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
