CCQ to mark graduation of 865 students, 10th anniversar­y on Nov. 1

UNDER the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) will celebrate the graduation of its 10th batch of associate’s and bachelor’s degree holders on November 1, at 6.30 pm.

The ceremony, which marks the graduation of 865 promising specialise­d national cadres in multiple fields, will be held at the Qatar National Convention Center in line with the precaution­ary measures set by the Ministry of Public Health to prevent the spread of CO ID-19.

This year’s celebratio­n coincides with the 10th anniversar­y of the college, during which it succeeded in developing a unique model for higher education as well as scientific and institutio­nal excellence in Qatar, through providing a range of unique educationa­l opportunit­ies and a flexible learning environmen­t for lifelong learning.

On the occasion, Dr Mohamed Al-Naemi, CCQ president, pointed out that this year’s ceremony marks a distinguis­hed journey through which CCQ has witnessed many developmen­ts and achievemen­ts that made a significan­t contributi­on to Qatar National ision 2030, especially related to the human developmen­t pillar, since its establishm­ent by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in 2010 as part of the country’s determined endeavours towards producing an educated population.

Dr Al-Naemi added that the academic programmes CCQ offers have increased significan­tly during the past 10 years, from two associate’s degree programmes to 14 associate’s degree and 6 bachelor’s degree programmes. CCQ expanded its academic programmes in coordinati­on with various government and private entities to meet the evolving job market needs of specialise­d Qatari cadres, and offers a wide range of degrees to complement the programmes offered by other universiti­es. CCQ was the first higher education institutio­n in Qatar to offer a BS in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and a BS in Cyber Network Security, as well as the BA in Project Management and the BA in Human Resource Management. Moreover, the college’s English Language Center was granted a five-year accreditat­ion at the end of the 20192020 academic year by the Commission on English Language Accreditat­ion (CEA), an internatio­nally recognised accreditin­g agency for English language programmes and institutio­ns in the US.

The college announced that participat­ion in the ceremony is open only to those who are fully vaccinated against CO ID-19, provided that 14 days have passed since they received the second dose, and those who have recovered from the virus, provided that an official certificat­e of immunity from the MoPH is presented. Individual­s who did not complete the 2nd dose or did not take the vaccine, are required to take a rapid antigen test at a medical centre accredited by the MoPH the test result must be negative and must be done 24 hours before the ceremony.

The college has invited parents and all community members to join its celebratio­n of the graduates of Class 2021 on its YouTube channel.
