Qatar Biobank Laboratories gets re-accredited by CAP until 2024

QATAR iobank aboratories has successfully achieved the re-accreditation of the College of American Pathologists CAP certificate. This places it among the elite international list of institutions with the certification for two more years from 2022 to 2024

Qatar iobank staff have successfully achieved the re-accreditation of the CAP certificate for two new years, starting from 2022, the

iobank aboratories said in a press statement.

This certificate has been granted to Qatar iobank laboratories after the whole accreditation procedures are done. This certificate keeps Qatar iobank among the list of the international entities that are similarly accredited with the CAP certificate, the statement added.

Dr Nahla Afifi, Director of Qatar iobank, a member of QF, congratulated the Qatar iobank team, and said that she was proud to be a part of it, for achieving the CAP certificate accreditation for Qatar iobank laboratories, which reflects the highest standards of quality and accuracy in Qatar iobank’s work. The laboratories passed all the inspection procedures in terms of equipment, technologies, staff, workflow, results’ accuracy and more, to ensure that all aspects are fulfilled to grant Qatar iobank laboratories the CAP certificate re-accreditation for two more years.

The CAP certificate is a high standard quality and safety assurance for the laboratories’ tests, diagnoses and results. To achieve this certificate, the laboratory has to pass a full inspection program to ensure all the highquality control practices and standards using methodologies and clinical application within the expertise of the program. The laboratory also has to pass tests related to the qualifications of the staff, the facility, the equipment, the safety and privacy policies, as well as the laboratory workflow and management.
