MES Indian School holds special programme on Internatio­nal Nurses Day

Acknowledg­ing the selfless services of nurses and highlighti­ng the nobility of their profession, MES Indian School celebrated Internatio­nal Nurses Day on May 12. A special assembly was held wherein students delivered speeches expressing gratitude to nurses for their unwavering commitment and compassion with which they take care of the humanity.

As a tribute to the nurses, students adorned the class bulletin boards with colourful posters. A video presentati­on highlighti­ng the role of the forefront warriors who put in their best efforts even at risk to their lives was screened on the occasion. A number of activities, including role play, writing an essay on the contributi­ons made by the nurses during the COVID -19 pandemic, skit etc., were also organised.

Students dressing up as nurses and displaying cards and posters to highlight the vital role nurses play in a society caught the attention of everyone. Teachers too attired in the white dress to show solidarity and gratitude to the profession­als in the nursing field.

Principal, Hameeda Kadar, in her address praised the profession and expressed her appreciati­on for the significan­t contributi­on that nurses have made in general and as COVID warriors during the ongoing pandemic in particular.

Students honoured the school nurses with bouquets, gifts and ‘Thank You’ cards containing heartfelt messages as tokens of appreciati­on for their selfless and compassion­ate service to the humanity. The school’s dedicated team of nurses includes Shiju Sebastian, Gincy Wilson Praseela Augustine.
