Amir, Iranian president discuss ties, global issues
THE Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi held an official talks session at the Republican Palace in Tehran on Thursday.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in the political, economic and trade fields, in addition to reviewing ways to enhance prospects for bilateral cooperation in the tourism, investment, transport and communications sectors.
The talks also dealt with a number of regional and international issues, especially the latest developments in the region.
The session was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chief of Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Transport HE Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin assim Al Thani.
On the Iranian side, the session was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Energy Ali-Akbar
Mehrabian, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam asemi and Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi.
HH the Amir later attended a lunch banquet hosted by President of Iran Ebrahim
Raisi in honour of HH the Amir and his accompanying delegation at Al Hafiziya Palace.
The banquet was attended by a number of ministers and senior Iranian government officials. Earlier on arrival at Mehrabad International Airport, HH the Amir was welcomed by First Vice-President of Iran Mohammad Mokhber, Iranian Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, atar’s Ambassador to Iran HE Mohammed
bin Hamad Al Hajri and Iran’s Ambassador to atar HE Hamid Reza Dehghani, in addition to a number of senior officials at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the atari Embassy in Tehran.
