Bale leads Wales 26-man squad for Qatar World Cup

-

WALES coach Robert Page announced on Wednesday his 26man squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Star Gareth Bale, currently at Los Angeles FC, will lead the

Welsh side, who will play only the second World Cup in their history.

Veteran midfielder Aaron Ramsey was also on the list, which featured other leading figures, such as defender Neco Williams and forward Dan James.

Page is also taking Swansea midfielder Joe Allen, despite doubts whether he will be fit to play in the tournament after damaging his hamstring in September.

“We’re giving him every opportunity to be fit,” Page said.

“There was no way I was ever going to not name him in the 26.”

Wales start their World Cup campaign against the United States on November 21 before playing Iran four days later and completing their group stage campaign against England on November 29.
