Amir condoles with Turkish president

HIS Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Sunday held a telephone conversati­on with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the phone call, HH the Amir expressed his sincere condolence­s on the victims of the explosion that took place in Istanbul, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

HH the Amir affirmed that Qatar stands by Turkey and its brotherly people, and its full support for all the measures it takes to maintain its security and stability. HH the Amir reiterated Qatar’s firm position on rejecting violence, terrorism, and targeting civilians and innocents.

In a statment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s strong condemnati­on and denunciati­on of the bombing that took place in the Taksim area in the center of Istanbul. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm position on rejecting violence and terrorism, regardless of the motives and reasons. It affirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the government and people of Turkey, and its full support for all the measures it takes to maintain security and stability.
