- SANTHOSH CHANDRAN

A recently launched music video, reflecting the spirit of FIFA, has gone viral on social media. Titled ‘Hayya ma’ana’ (Let the game win), the multilingual video song, which depicts the beauty of Qatar’s cities and its natural landscape, has already stolen the heart of music and football lovers all around.

Launched via Saina Music’s YouTube platform, it is a highly energetic fan song in English and Arabic, which has a fine touch of Western and Indian music flavours, and invites all to join the fun.

The Arabic lyric has been penned by Qatar’s renowned poet Khalifa Jamaan Al Suwaidi, with more than 250 songs to his credit. The Arabic portion is sung by upcoming Arabic singer Nadir Abdul Salam. The English lyric has been penned by Prasanth Mathew, who has written quite a few songs in the Indian language Malayalam.

“Young talented musicians from Qatar want to share their passion for the game, music and the country and then channel it towards the success of FIFA World cup 2022. They came together and created the fan song”, Prasanth Mathew told to Qatar Tribune.

The composer and second lead singer of the music video is Allen George Varghese, a Qatar based musician and professional audio engineer, associated with the local band Kanal Qatar.

The mixing and mastering has been done by Renjith

Viswanathan, a well experienced sound engineer. He is a wellknown figure in the South Indian film industry and has been associated with many famous music directors.

The song video has been directed by PPM Firos from Oxygen Productions, who is well known for his directorial contributions in his native language. His work Nizhalattangal is receiving considerable appreciation for its directorial brilliance.

Cinematography has been done by Aakash Sajan and editing by Mubashir Zam. The choreography is a joint effort of Maria John, Titty Varghese and Hayam Medhat.
