MESIS organises first segment of ‘Infinto 2022’ championsh­ip

MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch, organised the first segment of its annual sports meet, Infinito 2022, with great enthusiasm. The first segment of Infinito 2022 was the inter house football championsh­ip.

The participan­ts were divided into two categories. The prelims were conducted earlier and the final championsh­ip phase started with the semi-final of the junior category between Emerald House and Sapphire House. Sapphire won by one goal which was scored by Master Mohammad Hashir and they qualified for the final. Ruby House entered the final after defeating Topaz House in the second semi-final.

In the senior category, Saphire and Topaz entered the final by defeating Emerald and Ruby respective­ly. Topaz in the senior category and Saphire in the junior category won the champion’s trophy.

Individual trophies were awarded to the participan­ts which included Best Player Senior:

Master Abdul Halim (Topaz), Best Goalkeeper Senior: Master Asim Naveed (Topaz), Best Junior Player: Master Mohammad Hashir (Saphire) Best Goalkeeper: Master Johan Reji (Ruby).

Abdul Fathah P.O, director of sports & games, MESIS, and M.C. Muhamed, director of cultural & co-curricular activities, MESIS were the chief guests of the event. They inaugurate­d the championsh­ip and released the annual sports meet logo which was designed by school art teacher Muhammad Nisar. Hameeda Kader, principal of MESIS, addressed the players before the opening match.

Basketball, badminton, table tennis and chess competitio­ns will also be held as part of the annual sports meet. The programme will conclude with the athletics championsh­ip to be held on January 28, 2023 and the house with the most points in games and athletics will win the overall championsh­ip.

Pramila Kannan, MESIS vice principal, Physical Education teachers Sajudheen and Jibins Jose coordinate­d the event. Suhail, staff secretary, Arun Shetty, Humayun, house patrons Bujair, Moideenkut­ty, Dr Syed Irshad, Nipin, Shruthi, Rajeena, Aslamia and Shameema led the event.
