Ghana take just one Germany based player to Qatar

GHANA coach Otto Addo has named Freiburg’s Daniel-Kofi Kyereh as the only Germanybased player in his country’s World Cup squad.

The 26-year-old midfielder was among the 26 players announced by former Bundesliga player Addo in Accra on Monday. Christopher AntwiAdjei from Bochum and Kwasi Wriedt from Holstein Kiel did not make the squad.

Reading defender AbdulRahman Baba, who formerly played for Augsburg and Schalke, will be in Qatar.

The Black Stars are led by top player Thomas Partey from English league leaders Arsenal and young star Mohammed Kudus from Ajax Amsterdam.

Ghana, whose best World Cup showing was reaching the quarter-finals in 2010, face Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Qatar and have a warm-up friendly against Switzerland on Thursday.
