Three new beaches open days ahead of World Cup

West Bay Beach, B12 Beach Club and Doha Sands offer an affordable, family-friendly beach club experience for Doha’s sun and sea enthusiast­s

QATAR Tourism (QT) has announced the launch of West Bay Beach, B12 Beach Blub, and Doha Sands, three new family-friendly beach clubs ideally located in the heart of Doha overlookin­g Qatar’s naturally beautiful coastline.

The beaches were officially inaugurate­d on Wednesday, November 16, at a stylish sunset opening ceremony that saw the honourable presence of a selection of VIP guests, including Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker and Chief Operating Officer of Hamad Internatio­nal Airport Eng Badr Al Meer.

With a host of amenities at each beach including, a volleyball court, a purposebui­lt fan zone and a delectable food court at West Bay Beach; 600 sun loungers, water sport activities, versatile all-day dining and a children’s playground in B12 Beach Club; lastly 1,000 sun loungers, a concert stage and quickservi­ce food outlets at Doha Sands.

Offering unforgetta­ble experience­s, the three new beaches are primed to be some of the city’s most sought-after destinatio­ns for families and tourists during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and beyond. West Bay Beach, B12 Beach Club and Doha Sands additional­ly position Doha as a unique and desirable capital city with so many beach destinatio­n options at convenient and easily accessible locations.

Commenting on the opening, Baker said, “At Qatar Tourism we continue to expand our offerings to cater to every kind of traveller, at every kind of budget. As the country strives to welcome six million visitors a year by 2030, strong additions such as this, show the world that everyone is welcome in Qatar.”

The newly inaugurate­d beaches fall under Qatar Tourism’s West Bay Beach Project, which sees an extensive new developmen­t in the heart of Doha covering 40,000 square metres of premium beachfront.
