Tariq Salman calls on fans to support Qatar’s national team
TARIQ Salman, who plays in the midfield in Qatar’s national side, has called on fans to support the national team during the matches in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
“Everyone in the national team will seek to honour Qatari football in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022,” he said.
Salman said that he had always dreamt of competing in the FIFA World Cup, and particularly when he was at the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence.
He said he was confident that Qatar would do its utmost to provide an outstanding performance to the bring joy to the fans.
Salman, 24, told the official website of the Qatar Football Association: “We have participated in many continental championships in the past on the way to prepare for the World Cup, in addition to the camps where we played several friendly matches. They were important experiences for us. We have reached the required level of readiness, and we are waiting for the moment the starting whistle goes off for the opening match.”
“The atmosphere in the national team is wonderful,” he said, praising coach Felix Sanchez for playing a major role in his journey to the national team. “He trained me for 12 years and gave me great confidence which helped me to double my efforts.”
Salman pointed out that the most beautiful moment of his football career was winning the Asian Cup in 2019. “It was a great joy that cannot be forgotten, especially since it is the first Asian title for the national team.”
