Grand Express – Grand Hypermarke­t opens its 8th outlet in Al Aziziya

REGIONAL Director of Grand Hypermarke­t Qatar Ashraf Chirakkal recently inaugurate­d in, Grand Express Hypermarke­t, the eighth outlet of the Grand chain in Qatar, in Al Aziziya area in the presence of CEO Shareef BC, General Manager Ajith Kumar and Chief Operations Officer David Ford.

Speaking at the event, Chirkkal said the launch of the outlet comes ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as a boon to consumers living in Aziziya area.

He praised the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the government of Qatar for initiative­s that are rapidly expanding the country’s real estate footprint sustainabl­y.

“I am honoured to launch Grand Express Al Aziziya, Grand’s eighth hypermarke­t in Qatar. This reaffirms Qatar’s rapid economic growth. Grand Qatar regional teams have done Qatar proud by matching internatio­nal retail and hygiene standards which they continue to uphold post-COVID-19 pandemic and welcoming FIFA World Cup football fans,” he said.

Chirkkal said Grand Hypermarke­t Qatar will open three more outlets within the next six months – one Mall and three Express outlets.

“These outlets will create new jobs for citizens and residents in Qatar,” he added.

In his address, Shareef BC said, “The launch of our eighth hypermarke­t in Qatar is the result of the diligent work of our team. With the support of the relevant ministries, customers and municipal authority, we were able to achieve the growth and success.”

“Grand Express Al Aziziya will serve citizens and residents in this part of Qatar and the attraction to shoppers would be a wide range of products at competitiv­e prices,” he added.

Grand Hypermarke­ts Qatar General Manager Ajith Kumar said, “One feature of Grand Hypermarke­t newest outlet is that it gives local entreprene­urs, manufactur­ers and producers one more sprawling retail space to display and market their products to consumers in Qatar. This hypermarke­t will give a big boost to local businesses as well as regional and internatio­nal brands.”

Abdulla, a resident of Al Aziziya, said: “A new hypermarke­t in this locality will be convenient for people living here because this would spare us the trouble of travelling to Doha city for shopping.”
