Hosting of World Cup by Qatar historic, says Moroccan House vice-speaker
VICE-SPEAKER of the Moroccan House of Advisors Fouad Kadiri has said that the hosting FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by Qatar is a historic precedent for the country.
He pointed out that Qatar has shown exemplary commitment to the success of this major event by ensuring good preparation and optimal readiness for delivering the best tournament ever.
In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he expressed pride and honour to see the State of Qatar as the first Arab state to host this most prominent global sporting event.
In a related context, His Excellency Fouad Kadiri pointed to the keenness of the Moroccan House of Advisors to cooperate, coordinate and extend the bridge of the fruitful communication with the Qatari Shura Council.
He said that the two councils have wide parliamentary experience that could serve the Arab, Islamic and international interests, indicating that the State of Qatar’s presiding over the Arab Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments would enrich the Arab parliamentary experience and develop it.
He commended the comprehensive renaissance the State of Qatar is witnessing in various fields, and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Shura Council for the generous invitation he has received to attend FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He wished the State of Qatar all success in hosting this edition of the tournament.
