QATAR’S fascinating manmade island, The Pearl Qatar, has been one of the most crowded locations during the FIFA World Cup 2022 days. A number of events, including music and dance performances, being hosted as part of the World Cup celebrations, make the island vibrant and colourful, attracting foreigners as well as residents and locals to the island.

Tastefully decorated shopping centres, boutiques, restaurants that serve delicious food and Venice-like waterways add beauty to the island.

A Japanese football fan, who stays with a resident at The Pearl, said, “The waterfront residence at The Pearl is one of the best that I have seen in my life. The calm, quiet and beautiful island offers comfortable stay and awesome events. While visiting the island, I also learnt that this beautiful city is a tribute to Qatar’s rich history of pearling.”

Medina Centrale at The Pearl offers a Mediterranean ambience with a mixture of public plazas, gardens, canopies and the piazza, serving as the hub of the festivities.

A Doha resident said, “The Pearl offers something more than football. The night here is fantastic with pleasant weather, the vibe of football, and music and dance performances. It’s indeed a lifetime memory for me.”

The island was built at one of Qatar’s former pearldiving sites and has been a visitors’ paradise due to its beautiful beach, luxury hotels and shopping centres.
