Europeans find it harder to make ends meet, EU agency
MORE Europeans find it difficult to make ends meet, the European Union’s statistics agency Eurostat reported on Monday.
The share of the population able to make ends meet with great difficulty or with difficulty is rising, Eurostat said, based on data from 10 European Union countries for the second quarter of 2022.
Bulgarians were in the most precarious position of the surveyed countries, with 39.8 percent of respondents saying they experience difficulties or great difficulties in covering necessary expenses.
At least one in five people had difficulties or great difficulties making ends meet in Bulgaria, Slovakia, Italy and France in the second quarter of 2022, according to Eurostat figures.
Finns experienced the least financial worries with 11 percent reporting great difficulties or difficulties and 40.5 percent saying they can make ends meet very easily or easily.
Most people reported a stable or increased level of income for the surveyed period, Eurostat said.
