A BITTERSWEET DAY FOR FANS

Victories proved not enough on Wednesday as two winners — Mexico and Tunisia — missed out on reaching the Qatar 2022 Round of 16. Australia finished as Group D runners up behind France after beating Denmark. Australia’s win meant Tunisia’s victory over France was all for nothing. In Group C, Argentina beat Poland 2-0 but both teams made it to the next round, thanks to Mexico’s 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia. What a bittersweet day for football fans!
