Qatar Economic Forum to kick off tomorrow

Under the patronage of Amir, the 3-day forum convening more than 1,000 global business leaders will explore ‘new global growth story’

UNDER the patronage of His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the third ‘Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg’ is all set to kick off on May 23.

The three-day forum, which will be held at The Katara Towers: Fairmont & Raffles Hotels, is expected to bring more than 1,000 global business leaders from across the world together at the event.

In a statement released on the occasion, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani said, “We recognise that the world is becoming more interconne­cted and that collaborat­ion between nations and people is essential in driving economic growth. It is an honour to welcome the internatio­nal business community back to Doha for the third edition of the ‘Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg’, a growing platform for knowledge exchange and dialogue on key topics on the global agenda. Our commitment to shaping the future of economic progress remains as strong as ever, and we look forward to welcoming entreprene­urs, thought leaders, and decision-makers to the Forum.”

Addressing media persons during a press conference in Doha on Sunday, Media City Qatar CEO Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani said, “Through a series of keynote interviews, panel discussion­s, and interactiv­e workshops, the forum will explore the latest trends in finance, energy, healthcare, and technology, and examine their potential to drive future growth.”

He said that the forum will highlight establishe­d viewpoints and emerging voices from around the world to identify the latest economic trends, shining a light on the rising south-to-south economy.

More than 50 regional and internatio­nal speakers made up of government leaders, CEOs, global investors, and influentia­l voices from the worlds of culture, sport, and entertainm­ent will shed light on the global economy and new growth opportunit­ies.
