“One of the feelings I had was that of selfishness. I was viewing the clothes of refugees in an art exhibition who were in harsh conditions and had to rush, leave their clothes behind, while those refugees may still be struggling at the same moment I was at the exhibition. There was another feeling which was more on the lines of a sense of achievement, since through art and through someone as inspirational as Ai Weiwei, finally people can understand the struggle of refugees other than through mainstream media. What I loved most was viewing the 17,000+ photos that Ai Weiwei had shot during his travels and visits. It was special to see many different people he met on his way, such as the faces of refugees or even another artistic and philosophical mind like Walid Jumblatt. Also, it is particularly interesting to see his adventure, hiking, sailing, and more.”
