I’m a Chris­tian and I have been in Qatar since my child­hood. I have been fast­ing for four years in a row. First year I found it tough but thanks to my child­hood friends, grad­u­ally I got used to it as they helped me out a lot. Be­lieve me it’s an amaz­ing feel­ing. It’s an easy way to lose a lot of ex­cess weight and it’s re­ally good for your body.

I started fast­ing or try­ing to fast, which would be a bet­ter way to say, from the sum­mer of 2013. The first year was ex­tremely hard as it was in the peak sum­mer days. I stopped fast­ing af­ter a few days. Then I switched on to drink­ing wa­ter dur­ing the fast­ing pe­riod. But my friends helped me a lot and I tried read­ing ar­ti­cles about fast­ing and got to know how it’s good for the body.

I have been fast­ing the right way for the past two years and it has helped me a lot. Fast­ing helps in many ways, the en­tire metabolism changes and gives us more en­ergy and we tend to fo­cus on things much more than be­fore. It’s just hard on the very first day. Once you are on it, the rest of the days are just a piece of cake.

I de­cided to fast mainly to re­duce my ex­cess weight. It didn’t help me at the be­gin­ning as I didn’t fast in the right way and I used to overeat be­cause of the de­li­cious food that Ra­madan offers. But last two years, yes it has helped me a lot, by eat­ing healthy and by work­ing out.

I’m so ex­cited for this Ra­madan and I’m re­ally look­ing for­ward to it. Hope to have a much health­ier way of eat­ing and in­spire peo­ple to lead a good life.
