Ara­bic bread forms a sta­ple of the lo­cal diet in en­tire re­gion. Khoubz, khobz or khu­booz is a round Ara­bic bread, baked in a tan­door and pro­duced as a round flat­bread, some 25cm in di­am­e­ter. It is slightly leav­ened. Since it does not con­tain any added fat, dries rapidly. Best to eat while still its oven warm. It has some­what tough chewy tex­ture.
