New York City on

-

It's meant to be the city that never sleeps. Now it is starting to look a little sleepier as the streets of New York City are quiet amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The state of New York declared the state of emergency on March 7. Since then, life in and around NYC has taken new forms, with all public schools shut down, groups of 50 or more banned, and the restaurants and bars limited to take out and delivery only.

All event spaces and gathering spots, such as night clubs, theaters, and concert venues are also closed. NYC in coronavirus lockdown, the city stands empty, its neon advertising flashing to no one. With empty streets and fewer people outside since the outbreak of COVID-19, New York City looks more like a ghost town than a bustling metropolis.
