Carnival HIGHLIGHTS

– The City Centre Comes Alive!

The Star (St. Lucia) - Life Begins 2 Nite - - CONTENTS -

Very rarely does Castries Central jump to life quite like it did for Carnival Monday and Tuesday. The city centre experienced its annual resurrection for the St. Lucian Carnival Parade of the bands. Locals from around the island flooded the marketplace to both participate in and enjoy the cultural festivities. All who were present seemed to have had a fantastic time to say the least, amid all the music, dancing, creative splendour and of course socializing. There were lots of highlights and memorable moments to be pocketed and cherished; well at least until next year’s event, and even some unexpected humour to tickle even the most uptight Carnival onlooker’s funny bone. Hats off, or curtsies to a real Lucian Carnival!

Who says big isn't beautiful? Love it! What more can we say? We belly gripin' seeing all that food on de road.

...and the Haitian crew left its mark... as always!

A very hairy display! A custom costume made from weave?

Hunks of the hour... Simply irresistible!

This year's carnival was mad!
