The obliviously is filled with talented guys and gals, and 2Nite’s feature this week is no different. Meet Jolene St Clair, our sales administrator who just recently revealed to us her, well, unusual past time hobbies. A DJ and a biker chick! We can’t say we were surprise though. With a beaming personality and a sense of style, which separates her from most of our staff, we knew they most be some hidden talents with her. Well 2Nite got the opportunity to find out more this week.
2Nite: What is your stage name
The Dutchess. I decided on it based on the history and meaning behind the name. A Dutchess is someone, well specifically a woman, who is able to hold her own, and that’s essentially me.
2Nite: What made you get into this male dominated industry?
I love music. I've always liked it as an art, and art isn’t gender based. So for me it's not about male or female but being able to mix/dj and do it well.
2Nite: Is it hard for female DJs?
It does pose somewhat of a challenge in terms of recognition but I think by putting in the effort and working hard then my work would speak for itself.
2Nite: What other hobbies are you involved in?
I also ride. I am a member of the 758 Sesame Street Bikers & Friends. It's a female motorbike-riding club however we do have some male riders as well.
2Nite: What trills you about riding?
For me it starts off with the sound of that heavy engine. Then the look and of course the capabilities of pushing the limits of speed.
2Nite: What type of bikes do you ride?
Supermoto Bikes mostly. My favorites are the Suzuki dr-z400, the KTM Duke II and the Honda CRF450.
2Nite: Do you own one? Not as yet. But I am working on it!
