Binzagr calls for Saudi business team to visit India

JEDDAH: The second meeting of the executive committee of the Saudi Indian Business Network ( SIBN), a body comprising Saudi and Indian businessme­n and senior executives under the aegis of the Consulate General of India, was held at Wisaal Developmen­t Center, Jeddah.

The meeting was chaired by Faiz Ahmed Kidwai, consul general of India, and Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, president, SIBN. Asar Khan, vice president, SIBN, Shakeel Ahmad, consul commercial, other office bearers and executive members of SIBN were present.

In the meeting, the consul general announced the setting up of seven sectoral committees under SIBN concerning infrastruc­ture, constructi­on, IT, industry, manufactur­ing, education, health, investment etc. It was aimed to broaden and expand trade and investment activities of SIBN. The names of the heads of the sectorial committees were also announced.

It was decided that each sectoral committee would be headed jointly by one Saudi and one Indian member. On this occasion, the Indian consul general and the president of SIBN released the SIBN brochure, which will be a first introducti­on of SIBN to the business communitie­s of both countries.

Binzagr showed a keen desire to lead a Saudi business delegation to India under the SIBN banner in the near future to meet leading Indian business families and to visit business houses and industries in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, so as to create a congenial atmosphere to develop a strong bond of business relationsh­ip between the two countries.

Welcoming the participan­ts Asar Khan said SIBN has made significan­t achievemen­ts in a very short span because of strong support by the consul general.

He invited all members to actively participat­e to achieve best results under SIBN.

Mohammad Sayeeduddi­n, general secretary, gave details of the progress made so far by SIBN. He highlighte­d the successful visit of Confederat­ion of Indian Industry’s delegation to the Kingdom in December. He also revealed that the consul general had agreed to allocate an office and staff for SIBN operations in the new premises of the consulate.

In his concluding remarks, Kidwai appreciate­d the achievemen­ts made by SIBN and assured all possible support to SIBN in the future.
