Indian students excel in Class XII exam

The Indian Internatio­nal SchoolJedd­ah (IISJ) has set new records in the All-India Senior Secondary Certificat­e (Class XII) examinatio­ns conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education in MarchApril-2013. The results were declared yesterday.

“The IISJ has once again set new records with 1,435 distinctio­ns in different subjects and 608 A1 grades,” said Principal Syed Masood Ahmed.

Sara Abdul Rahim has topped the school scoring 96.2 percent followed by Mohammed Salman Ahmed with 96 percent and Sabiunnisa Moideen Sahib with 95.8 percent.

A total of 506 students from the IISJ appeared for the examinatio­ns. Of them, 49 students secured 90 percent and above, 469 got 60 percent and above, and five were placed in compartmen­t.

A total of 647 students from major schools in Riyadh took the exam. Khairunnis­a Ruman of the Indian Internatio­nal School- Riyadh, topped in science by scoring 95.6 percent, followed by Emani Shirin with 95 percent and Affaf Junaid Ahmed with 94.4 percent.

In the commerce stream, Aiswarya Raghunath and Sualeha Nasir Khan shared the top position with 93.4 percent while Sadia Shereen and Gulnaz Begum stood second with 93.2 percent and Ayesha Khan third with 91.4 percent.

In humanities, Azra Kaleem topped with 93.6 percent, followed by Sayed Salwa with 90.6 percent and Zaiba Fatima 89 percent.

Taha Bilal and Annam Irfan of the Internatio­nal Indian Public School shared the top spot, scoring 90 percent. Friedrich Samuel topped in chemistry with 95 percent and Ulfath Arshiya in biology with 95 percent.

Sayantan Das of DPS-Riyadh topped in the school with 93.4 per- cent. Toppers in English include Sayantan Das, Fatma Zurer and Sydrah Khatib who shared the first position with 95 percent. Jacob Binoy Joseph and Aakash Srivastav topped in physics with 83 percent. In chemistry, Jacob Binoy Joseph and Aakash Srivastav secured 95 percent and Sayantan Das ranked first in maths,95 percent, and business studies ,98 percent. In biology, Jacob

Binoy Joseph scored 92 percent. Nabeel Ahmed got 88 percent in physical education. Rahiquum Maktoom topped in economics with 97 percent and accountanc­y 95 percent. Toppers at the Indian Internatio­nal School-Jubail included Jheel Pandya (Science, 95.8 percent), M. Fathima 93.8 percent, S. Nikkita 93.2 percent and Kavya Shree 93 percent.

In the commerce section, Rohma Tanzeel (90.4 percent), Anusha Sundar (88.8 percent) and Adhara 88 percent topped the list.

Among boys, the toppers in science were S.L. Quraishy Yusuf, 92.20 percent, Vignesh Venugopal, 87.40 percent, and Sunit P. Gopla, 84.80 percent. Commerce toppers were Anil P. Chandran 82.2 percent, Akhil M. Mathew 72.6 percent, Ashish Abraham 71.4 percent, and Mohammed Aman Khan 71.4 percent.

At the Indian Internatio­nal School-Buraidah, the third consecutiv­e batch of 17 students, secured 100 percent result. Vigneshwar­an Sendhil topped the batch with 90.2 percent, followed by Iman Fathima 88.6 percent, Shebsan Mohammed 88.4 percent, Salman Abdul Salam 86 percent, Thasneem Aslam 86 percent, and Jamshina 85.2 percent.

The New Al-Wurood Internatio­nal School secured 94.6 percent passing rate. Ashana Kunnathody topped in the science stream with 90.6 percent, followed by Thamanna Haya 82.4 percent and Omer Mohammed 79.2 percent.
