Private university on Makkah-jeddah highway

The Municipali­ty of the Holy Places is proposing to build a 2- million- square- meter educationa­l project by establishi­ng a private university on the Makkah-Jeddah highway.

The university will be built over a space of 2 million square meters with a cost of more than SR 20 million.

The university comes within the major investment projects of the municipali­ty’s administra­tion for developing muwnicipal investment­s.

The administra­tion is putting the final touches on one of the educationa­l investment research that will bring more educationa­l services to the people of Makkah.

The municipali­ty proposes to establish a private university through an auction system on design, constructi­on, operating and transfer.

The investment period in the university is 25 years. Through the university, the municipali­ty aims to support the education sector, increase the municipali­ty’s returns, provide more educationa­l opportunit­ies for the local students and take in more of the increasing number of pupils.

The project is made up of specialize­d colleges, a research center, state- of- the art study labs that are constructe­d according to latest scientific standards, lecture halls, service facilities and other services that will provide students with a comfortabl­e learning environmen­t.
