Top teams score easy wins in WPCA Premier League

Top teams scored comfortabl­e wins in the Premier League cricket tournament, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Center and organized by the Western Province Cricket Associatio­n, here.

Dopco Stars routed Lothers by 128 runs, Crown Steel eased past Al-Ghamdi Cricket Stars by 51 runs while My Care Hala trounce AOT by 56 runs.

Dopco Stars racked up 222 for 3. Afaq top-scored with 75 runs followed by Afzal 51, Asim 52 not out and Nadeem 37. Lothers in reply were bundled out for 94. Nabeel made 26. Shahbaz took 3 for 14.

In the other match, Crown Steel put on board 168 for 8. Khurram Karamat 46, Umair 29 and Abu huraira 32 were the main run getters. Ali had 3 for 27 while Nadeem and Rafaqat shared 4 wickets. Al Ghamdi were restricted to 117 for 7. Ali 29 and Pervez 28 tried to make a fight of it. Aijaz Sagheer claimed 4 for 20.

MCH plundered 210 for 7 with Qamar Abbas scoring 83. Nasir 34 and Amjed 32 were the other scorers. Imran Yusuf took 3 for 41 and Abbas got 2. AOT replied with 154 for 9.

Faiq stroked 46 and Naeem Shah 25. Abid scalped 3 for 12 and 2 wickets each were taken by Adnan and Hafiz Jaffer.

Afternoon Cup: Al Safri 143: (Muneeb 66; Zeeshan 4 for 30, Shoukat 3 for 19) beat Pak Eagles 114 for 9: (Zahoor 35; Muneeb 4 for 22, Zafar 2,Waseeq 2) by 29 runs.

AOT Youngsters 114: (Noman 22; Murtuza 3 for 16, Tauseef 3 for 28) lost to APF 116 for 3: (Maqsood 56 n.o, Hasanat 26; Nadeem 2 wkts) by 7 wkts.

Elaf 164 for 4: (Ehtesham 45, Usman 44, Azeem 29) beat Thales Group 142 for 8: (Waqas 51; Azeem 3 for 7) by 22 runs. Hala Internatio­nal School 169 for 7: (Anas Malik 53; Waqas 2 wkts) beat MBCC 141 for 9: (Rana Haroon 41, Fareed 27; Junaid Amir 4 for 24) by 28 runs.

Nestle Milo 226 for 3: (Aijaz Butt 97, Abdullah Zahid 97 n.o; Imran 2 wkts) beat Zultrack 74: (Irfan 5 for 18, Zahid Qureshi 3 for 14, Bilal Malik 3 for 14) by 152 runs.

Al Mabani 143: (Naeem 31, Amjad Ali 33; Shahnawaz Khan 4 for 16, Yasser Ameen 4 for 24, Qasim Butt 2 wkts) lost to UCC 144 for 6: (Shahnawaz 38, Ahmed Faraz 37; Amjad Ali 4 for 20) by 4 wkts.

Morning Cup: Royal Brothers 171 for 4: (Bakhtiyar 55, Hamid 32; Ashan 2 wkts) lost to Aquafina Rapid Tech 172 for 4: (Asif 96 n.o; Amir 2 wkts) by 6 wkts.

Al Mazroi 179 for 6: (Sufiyan Laheri 91, Mohsin 31; Jameel 3 for 25) beat Al Kabbani 123: (Farhan 3 for 16, Saqib 2 wkts) by 56 runs.
