‘KSA’s future under King Salman promising’

- JEDDAH: GALAL FAKKAR

A number of experts have expressed confidence in the future of the Kingdom under King Salman, Crown Prince Muqrin and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, due to the role they have played in the decision-making policies over the past several years.

Fahd bin Siban Al-Sulami, member of the Board of Directors of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( JCCI), said the smooth transfer of power to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman after the demise of King Abdullah is a matter of great relief for Saudis from all walks of life.

He added that the smooth and quick transfer at a time when the region is in turmoil is a clear message to the world that the Kingdom enjoys domestic stability and security.

He pointed out the fact that the 6 million Hashtag of ‘Yes we pledge our allegiance’ from Saudis over a period of 24 hours is clear proof of the people’s satisfaction and acceptance of the new leadership.

“As a businessman and member of the JCCI, I welcome King Salman because he has several endearing qualities such as his humility, cultural diversity and his firm grounding in Islam through the memorization of the Holy Qur’an. He is also keen to develop the nation and work for the prosperity of his people,” Al-Sulami said.

A high-ranking official of a large construction and investment company, Faisal Aqil, said the Kingdom’s future is safe in the hands of King Salman especially in regards to the continuation of major projects being executed in various parts of the country.

“I personally met the king during the construction of the King Khaled International Airport and observed his determination and desire to undertake projects which guarantee success, progress and prosperity for the Kingdom and its people,” Aqil said.

He believed that the king’s experience and devotion to the development of Riyadh while he was governor of the capital would also reflect in the development of other cities.

Chairman of the Council of Tourist Transport at the Arab League Ali Nagore said he is confident of the future of the Kingdom with King Salman at the helm of affairs.

The king is a beacon of knowledge and well-versed in domestic and international matters. “The king’s rich personality and varied interests will contribute to the development of every aspect of life in the Kingdom. Being a philanthropist, he is an active participant in social and charity works and supports those who are engaged in these noble activities. Those in the field of investment and construction will also find in him a valuable support while those in the field of culture and media know his connection to their activities. That is why they believe that the king heralds greater progress and prosperity for the Kingdom at large,” he said.

Nagore noted the instances where the king has taken a stand to guarantee the welfare of the people and initiatives for the good of his citizens which have endeared him to his people. “He is a ruler who is thoroughly involved in the lives of his people, aware of the problems inside the Kingdom as well as globally,” he said.
