WE all love to go through our kitchen cabinets to find the perfect solutions for our hair and skin problems. There is a solution for every problem. You must first know what you want to fix, maybe visit a specialist to learn exactly what you need and how to get back your healthy, shiny hair.

Arab News spoke to hair specialist Samia Nabeel, who gave simple and important tips for the best application of hair masks: 1. After using a hair mask, rinse with only cold or warm water. Using hot water to rinse off any mask that contains oils or eggs could possibly leave you with cooked bits of egg in your hair. 2. Rinse your hair thoroughly as many times as possible to make sure the

mask is completely removed from your hair. If possible use an organic

shampoo to wash the mask off. 3. Give your scalp a relaxing massage after you apply the hair mask. The massage will help stimulate the blood flow in your scalp, it will also result in a healthy scalp and moist hair locks. 4. Wet your hair before applying the mask. It is easier to apply the hair

mask to damp hair and the mask is absorbed faster. 5. Always use organic ingredients. When making a hair mask, try to use extra virgin oils, pure honey and organic ingredients for best results. These products are easily absorbed by the hair. 6. Natural hair masks can be applied as often as you want. Applying hair mask once a week is great for dry and normal hair. Take care not to add a lot of oils to the hair. 7. Place a towel around your neck and a plastic wrap on your hair when you have your hair mask on. Just wrap a soft cotton towel around your neck to protect your clothes from the hair mask. The plastic wrap helps to keep everything in place and the mask does not stain your clothes and furniture. 8. Apply your mask starting from the top of your hair to the bottom. Work the hair mask from your scalp to the tips of your hair. Slather a generous amount of the hair mask onto you hair ends, where most damage occurs. 9. Relax yourself after applying your hair mask. While your hair mask works its magic, you can de-stress by reading a book, meditating or even pampering your nails with a home-based manicure and pedicure. 10. Adding too much honey and oil can leave your hair sticky and oily. Don’t over proportionate the amount of ingredients you need to put in your hair mask. For example: Adding too much honey can make a very sticky hair mask which you’ll spend a long time trying to remove. Also, using a lot of coconut or olive oil can give you greasy hair, which is also hard to rinse off.
