Stop blaming the West

-

This refers to the article, “Integrating Europe’s Muslims.” ( Jan. 28)

I do believe Muslims have their own problems for a lack of education. The parents should be more careful about their children’s education. In broader sense Muslim countries should help each other in education and science and technology. Success in Germany is dependent primarily on education. Regardless of nationality or religion those people that are well qualified will do well and those that are poorly qualified will do badly. Ninety percent of Muslims are well integrated in the German society. They have good jobs and are happy to live in Germany.

Unfortunately the 10 percent of Muslims that are badly educated do have a problem being successful in Germany. This is not because they are Muslims but because of their lack of education. Most Germans don’t care what religion someone has, only if they can do a good job or not. The German government believes that everybody has a duty to educate himself to the best of his ability. If someone refuses to study hard then he carries the blame for their failure, not the society at large. Nobody will force Muslims to integrate in Germany; they have the duty to adapt to local conditions if they want to live there. In Germany nobody hates Muslims for their religion, why should they? What they dislike is people (regardless of religion or nationality) who claim that Germans treat Muslims in a hateful manner.
