Shah, Mehmood shine in WPCA league

Nadeem Shah smashed an unbeaten 102 to help AOT score a comfortabl­e 193-run win over Pepsi Deccan in the MoneyGram Premier Division 35-over league organized by the Western Province Cricket Associatio­n.

AOT plundered the rival bowling attack and put up 356 for 9. Naeem Shah top-scored with 102 runs. Faisal Mehmood compiled 91 off 35 balls. The two added 116 for the opening stand.

Later, Hisham (39) and Aqeel (59) were the other run getters. Aleem took 3 for 50, Rabbani 2 for 46 and Sohail 2 for 59. Pepsi Deccan Knights were 163 all out. Aleem scored 32 and Mazher 27. Imran Yusuf claimed 4 for 39 and Hisham 2-19.

In another encounter, Hala Friends piled up 279 for 8 against Islamic Developmen­t Bank. Abdullah Essa (49), Nasir (48), Saleem (46) and Waqas (38) were among the runs. Zeeshan Khan, Hashim Khan and Khalid Butt shared 6 wickets.

IDB were bowled out for 186. Junaid made 48 and Mohammed Farook 38. Wajahat Shah had 3 for 19. Samer and Yusuf bagged 2 wickets each. Hala Friends won by 93 runs.

In the afternoon Twenty20, Nestle Milo trounced AOT Youngsters by 28 runs. Nestle Milo racked up 193 for 9 through Abdullah Zahid 64 and Ahsan 30.

Rameez and Pervaiz Baig got 2 wickets each. AOT Youngsters chasing managed 165 for 9 as Hasnain Malik stroked 36. Iftikhar took 4 for 9 and Fayyaz 2 wickets.

Hyundai routed Contraco by 7 wkts. Contraco posted 156 for 7. Sanam smashed 74 runs. Ayaz and Mohammed claimed 2 scalps each. Hyundai achieved the target of 162 off 77 balls. Wajid made 74 and Ayaz scored unbeaten 38 as the duo stitched together 104 runs. Amjad took 2 wkts.

Jotun Paints won against UCC by 7 wkts. UCC was bowled out for 128. Imran stroked 35. Shafeeq took 4 for 13 and Shabbir 2 wickets. Jotun Paints in chase got to 130 for 3 off 80 balls. Shafeeq Rafeeq and Shafeed scored unbeaten 52 and 29 respective­ly.

Hala Academy White got the better of My Care Hala Green by 42 runs. Hala White put up 170 for 9. Amir Sajjad 41 and Adil 26 were the main scorers. Adeel, Javed and Nadeem bagged 2 wickets each.

MCH Green chasing were comfortabl­y placed at 94 for 1. Fahad scored 50 and Amir 29 when they slumped to 128 all out. Furquan took 3 for 11, Safiuddin 3 for 33 and Shahid 3 for 7.

MBCC downed Thales Group by 8 wkts. Thales Group scored 138 for 8. MBCC achieved the victory target of 139 for 2.

In the morning Twenty20 matches, Al Saudi XI struggled past Royal Brothers by 19 runs. Al Saudi XI piled up 181 for 5. Nazeer Faisal top-scored with 56 followed by Farooqui 45 and Humayoun’s unbeaten 49.

Hamid had 2 wkts. Royal Brothers in reply managed 162 for 9. Bakhtiyar was the highest scorer with 65 runs and Hamid got 41. Adil grabbed 3 for 39 and Abbas 2 wickets.

In another match, Universal XI humbled Indian Knight Riders by 10 wickets. Indian Knight Rider was bundled out for 98 with Asif Mehmood took 4 for 17 including a hat trick. Owais was not far behind and got 4 for 15. Universal XI in reply scored 101 for no loss off 62 balls. Inayatulla­h and Asif 41 scored 55 and 41 respective­ly.

Mercedes Benz defeated Ralco by 52 runs. Mercedes Benz racked up 197 for 5. Ilyas scored 79 runs and Jabran 64. The two added 116 runs. Shafeeq and Babar shared 4 wickets.

Ralco managed 145 for 9. Naeem 30, Taher 32 and Babar 38 not out were the main scorers. Saifu scalped 4 for 23 and Javed 2 wickets.

ALJ Toyota crushed Harasco Baroom by 108 runs. ALJ Toyota hammered 225 for 5. Imran smashed 85 runs and Aftab Ansari got 50. Zubair took 2 wkts. Harsco Baroom was restricted to 117 runs. Deepak managed 25. Tanveer Zamane claimed 3 for 26 and Aftab 2 wickets.

Sadafco trounced Nesma Holding by 3 wkts. Nesma holding was bowled out for 125. Zubair took 4 for 23 and Sadat 3 for 24. Sadafco in reply was home with 126 for 7. Thanks to Zubair’s 30. Javeed grabbed 3 for 20 and Rana 2 wickets.
