Knights Group B champion in Titan Watch–JBL tourney
JEDDAH: The Knights of coach Rey Maddatu beat Movenpick 99-93 to claim the Group B championship crown in the Titan Watch- JBL Invitational Basketball Tournament at Nazeeh and Wartah (AlBaik) Park basketball court in Khalidia here
Knights started strongly in the first half of action with unstoppable offense. Movenpick regrouped in the second half but the Knights wisely played the clock to win the championship. Garcia top-scored with 29 points for Knights and was adjudged as the Titan Watch best player of the game while Ancheta scored 19 points for Movenpick.
This tournament is principally sponsored by Titan Watch of Al Hussaini & Al Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al- Husssaini). Giordano Fashions (Ahmadullah) and Ric Printing are the co-sponsors.
Mohammed Rasheed presided the awarding ceremony with the support of JBL staff and friends. Ahmad Peradilla of Jeddah Dawah Center handed over the trophies and Giordano gift items to the winners. The awardees are as follows: 40 and above Division — Wasalak 40’s champion, R Printing 1st runner-up, JDC Veterans 2nd runner-up, Khalidia 40s 3rd runner-up; mythical five team Calluen ( JDC Veterans), Abet Batalon (Khalidia 40s), Migz Diaz (R Printing), Obando (Wasalak 40s) and Brian (Wasalak 40s); Fred Concepcion (Wasalak 40s) Best Coach, Aquino (Wasalak 40s) Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Non-rated Group A Division — Al Arabi champion, Sunbullah Meat 1st runner-up, Blazers 2nd runner-up, Tetra Pak runnerup; mythical five team Sidad (Blazers), Pasugnod (Sunbullah Meat), Laput (Tetra Pak), De Jesus (Al-Arabi) and Kyrie (Al-Arabi); Norman Quito (Al-Arabi) Best Coach, De Boss (Al-Arabi) MVP.
