KPMG to help employees get SOCPA accreditation

-

KPMG is investing in a support program to assist its employees in obtaining accreditation from the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA).

The move aims at enhancing the professional qualifications of its employees and newly enrolled graduates.

“SOCPA accreditation is the gold standard for public accountancy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and this program will motivate finance and advisory enthused employees and potentials in Riyadh, Jeddah and Alkhobar to undertake advanced training that will greatly enrich their career paths within or outside KPMG,” said Abdullah Alfozan, chairman of KPMG Middle East and South Asia.

He added: “As a social responsibility initiative that reflects the leading position of KPMG in the business, the accreditation program affirms KPMG’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that demonstrate a higher level of performance. The overall objective of the program is to attract future talents to get enrolled and prosper in a wellestablished, healthy environment accounting firm.”

KPMG will assist participants in sourcing external providers for SOCPA training and provide specific tax and soft skills training. The three-year program covers an introduction to KPMG tax methodologies, risk management, ethics and independence, tax foundation, tax modules and tax updates. Alfozan said: “The SOCPA program complements KPMG’s Saudization drive, which is in line with the National Transformation Program and on track to increase percentage of Saudi employees to 80 percent by 2020.”
