Flyadeal celebrates first flight to Jazan
flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s new lowfare airline, flew its first flight to Jazan — its fourth destination from Jeddah and second from Riyadh — on Thursday. The airline will offer twice daily flights to Jazan from both Jeddah and Riyadh.
To reinforce its commitment to bring affordable air travel to Jazan, flyadeal had offered a limited-period SR1 ($0.27) fare for its first flight only. The flight sold out within hours.
The packed first flight comprised dignitaries, flyadeal staff and customers who were welcomed personally by the CEO of flyadeal, Con Korfiatis.
After landing in Jazan, flyadeal held a celebratory event, hosted by the Chairman of flyadeal and Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and Korfiatis, with the support of King Abdullah Airport Jazan director, Mubarak Al-Shahrani.
The first flight from Jazan to Riyadh was followed by another celebration, supported by the CEO of Riyadh Airports Co., Saleh Al-Rasheed, and Director General of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Suliman Al-Teraif.
Event attendees at the airports interacted with the cabin crew and the flyadeal management team and shared their thoughts about the airline. Local journalists and bloggers at each event were also invited to familiarization trips on flyadeal.
flyadeal chairman Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser said: “Today is another auspicious day for the airline: flyadeal’s first flight to Jazan coincides with the third anniversary of the allegiance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, just as the first flight of flyadeal took place on Sept. 23, the Saudi National Day.”
King Abdullah Airport Jazan Director Mubarak Al-Shahrani said: “I am happy to welcome flyadeal to Jazan. We are looking forward to building a long-term relationship with the newest Saudi airline and the contribution it will bring to the growth of our region.”
flyadeal CEO Korfiatis said: “‘Al-Janah,’ our fourth brand-new A320 arrived just a few days ago and we are delighted to bring everyday low fares to Jazan, the city of flowers. Adding our fifth destination in less than three months is proof of our continued effort to bring affordable air travel to the Kingdom. Our newest routes will allow many more customers to fly for less and enjoy a value for money experience delivered with great attitude.”
