Is­raeli drone crashes in Le­banon

An Is­raeli drone has crashed in south­ern Le­banon due to a tech­ni­cal mal­func­tion, the mil­i­tary said on Saturday, af­ter Hezbol­lah me­dia la­beled it a “spy” de­vice.

The Is­raeli mil­i­tary said that the drone crash in an open area on Fri­day night posed “no risk of leaked in­for­ma­tion.” It pro­vided no fur­ther de­tails.

Hezbol­lah chan­nel Al-Ma­nar re­ported that the “spy drone” fell be­tween Baraa­chit and Beit Ya­houn in south­ern Le­banon. It said that “a sec­ond spy plane tar­geted it with a guided mis­sile, which re­sulted in it be­ing de­stroyed.”

Is­rael and Hezbol­lah fought a dev­as­tat­ing war in 2006 and the two re­main bit­ter en­e­mies.
