KSA takes part in Arab Elec­tric­ity Union con­fer­ence

Dr. Naif bin Mo­hammed Al-Ebady, un­der­sec­re­tary for elec­tric­ity at the Min­istry of En­ergy, In­dus­try and Min­eral Re­sources, led the King­dom’s del­e­ga­tion to the sixth gen­eral con­fer­ence for the Arab Elec­tric­ity Union be­ing held in Jor­dan. Al-Ebady re­viewed the coun­try’s ex­pe­ri­ence dur­ing the con­fer­ence’s open­ing ses­sion, which ad­dressed the sta­tus quo and po­ten­tial of elec­tric­ity in the Arab world.

Sep­a­rately, Saudi Elec­tric­ity Co. said re­cently it plans to es­tab­lish a power gen­er­a­tion sub­sidiary, pend­ing share­holder ap­proval, a step viewed by an­a­lysts as a sign the state-con­trolled power gi­ant is push­ing ahead with a lon­gawaited re­struc­tur­ing.
