Dua Lipa heads back to Dubai for November concert
British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa will perform in the UAE on Nov. 15 at The Pointe, on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
The 24-year-old “IDGAF” singer will perform on a purpose-built stage suspended over water, organizers revealed, just over a year after the Grammy-winner was set to perform at a cancelled gig at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
The concert was scheduled on Nov. 11, 2018, to mark the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first anniversary, but was cancelled at the last minute due to heavy rainstorms.
The “One Kiss” singer did, however, pull off a successful performance in the country at Dubai’s du Arena in February
2018.
Tickets for the upcoming gig will go on sale at www.ticketmaster.ae at $68 for general admission and $95 for fan-pit access.
The UAE isn’t the only regional country the star has visited — earlier this year she shared an emotional message with her Instagram followers after spending three days at various refugee camps in Lebanon. Lipa visited camps in Rayak and Bekaa with UNICEF to meet with refugee children whose families fled the war in Syria in April and took to Instagram to share a series of photos from her visit, in which she can be seen smiling and laughing as children from the camp surround her. Lipa, whose parents fled the conflict in the Balkans in 1992, said, “This is personal for me. My parents fled a war-torn region and built a life for themselves in a new place. And each one of the refugee children I met has parents just like my own, who have tried to make the best decisions they could for their families.
“You can read about the conditions or see the challenges on
TV, but you don’t really feel the absolute dire circumstances for refugees from Syria until you see them for yourself,” she added in a released statement at the time. The songstress has also been spotted on the arm of US-Palestinian model Anwar Hadid in recent months.
Lipa was photographed spending time with Hadid, brother to supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella, in July, further fueling rumors that the pair are a bona fide couple.
In the months that followed, the star posted photographs with him on her Instagram account and has been spotted out and about with the musician-model across the world.
