Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim

Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim has been rector of Hail University since July 2011. He began his academic career in 1983 as a lecturer at King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh. He became an assistant professor, then an associate professor, then head of the department of archaeolog­y and museums.

During his tenure at KSU, Al-Ibrahim co-founded the Gulf History and Archaeolog­y Society, and the General Union of Arab Archaeolog­ists.

A royal decree appointed him as a full member of the Shoura Council in 2005.

He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the College of Tourism and Archaeolog­y at KSU. He completed his Ph.D. in archaeolog­y at the University of Durham in the UK in 1988. Al-Ibrahim is an executive member of the board of the

Saudi Society for Archaeolog­ical Research, and is an active member of the editorial committee of the Seminar for Arabian Studies, based in London.

He is editor-in-chief of

Adumatu, a refereed journal on archaeolog­y in the Arab world. He has also published three books and a number of articles in highprofil­e archaeolog­y journals.

Hail University concluded its participat­ion in the Biban Hail Forum, organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprise­s (Monshaat) from Oct. 2 to 5.

Al-Ibrahim said the university contribute­d to the forum with various workshops and training courses through its virtual education platform. The university also signed a memorandum of cooperatio­n with Monshaat.
