Bindi Irwin
Bindi Irwin, daughter of late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, rushed to get married at the Australia Zoo just hours before wedding restrictions went into place.
The Federal Government announced new rules regarding wedding restrictions on Tuesday. Only five people henceforth will be allowed to attend wedding ceremonies, including the bride and groom. Restrictions will go into effect at midnight on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Aussie TV personality and wildlife conservationist and her now husband, Chandler Powell, 22, were married before the restrictions were due to come into effect. They tied the knot at the zoo where they first met, surrounded by animals. This was confirmed by 7NEWS, who shared a helicopter view showing preparations underway at the zoo and a woman believed to be Bindi emerging from a vehicle wearing a white gown. On Tuesday,
Irwin posted on Instagram a photo of her with her father, captioned: “Thank you for being my guiding light. You’re always with me.”
Irwin and Powell first revealed they were engaged in an Instagram post last July. They began dating six years ago after meeting at the Australia Zoo where Irwin works.
Irwin wrote: “On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life. Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love.”
Powell wrote: “She said YES! Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light. Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives.”
