Giga-project’s internship program ready for new batch of talent

- Arab News Riyadh Nicholas Naples AMAALA CEO

The Misk/AMAALA Corporate Internship Programme is set to induct 30 new interns by the end of June once the first dozen have graduated. AMAALA, a luxury destination located along Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast, launched a youth empowerment program to develop local talent by providing on-the-job training to boost skills and expertise. It reflects the Kingdom’s drive to nurture and prepare Saudi talent to step into leadership roles in established and new economic sectors. The program initially selected 12 interns, who were given training across all business areas for six months.

The batch of 30 interns will be introduced to a variety of roles across the organization in July. Future programs will be rolled out in six-month cycles, with numbers expected to grow alongside the business.

“AMAALA is committed to supporting and nurturing Saudi talent,” AMAALA CEO Nicholas Naples said.

“We are firmly focused on helping these young, ambitious minds reach their full potential. Investment in our youth is key to the success of our business, and our partnership with the Misk Foundation will help us to identify and recruit the leaders of tomorrow. Our collaboration with Misk will secure the future of the AMAALA workforce, and the future of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for generations to come.”

AMAALA is launching a second initiative — the AMAALA Future Leaders Programme — in late 2020. It has been designed to identify and recruit top-performing graduates to become part of the senior management team.

The 18-month program will see participants based at AMAALA’s headquarters for a six-month immersion, before embarking on a year of specialist training in their field of expertise.
